Travelling to the US is always exciting because of the sheer diversity this country offers in terms of what you can do and see. No wonder, the US is one of the most popular destinations in the world, and all airlines have flights to US cities.

However, for first time travellers, US can be intimidating because of the difference in language and culture. It's also very distinct from Japan, and this is why we thought we would give you some tips to make your first trip to the US a memorable one.

US still uses the old British measurement system, which the British doesn't use anymore! So, its inches, feet, miles, gallon and pounds, not the metric units. Electricity is 110 volts at 60 cycles, and not 220 volts and 50 cycles, which the rest of the world follows.

While driving a car, remember each of the 50 states have their own rules and regulations. Though they are similar in many ways, there are also subtle differences that can get you in trouble if you're not attentive.
